Deep ruby with a vivid rim. Cassis, blackberry and cola lead, with cracked pepper and licorice building as it opens up, this is a wine that rewards patience in the glass. Smooth and fleshy across the palate, with dark cherry, candied violet and spice-laced fruit held in check by a firm mineral spine. Air brings more depth and a suave floral note to the fore, the finish stretching long with a gentle but definite tannic grip and sharp, clean definition.
