A blend with some history behind it, what was once the Oberhauser bottling has been folded into Klostersatz and supplemented with fruit from newly acquired holdings in the Trum, just below the Schütt, plus a portion of Burgstall fruit that ran too high in sugar for the site-dedicated Federspiel. The nose is attention-grabbing: ripe apricot and lime, lush and expressive in the way Oberhauser Rieslings have long been. On the palate, generous glycerol and bright, juicy fruit carry the wine forward, while a deep stony quality gradually asserts itself, building toward a finish with real mineral grip and vitality.
