Emmerich Knoll Traminer Smaragd 2016

From cuttings sourced via the Salomons in Stein, this yellow-fruited Traminer was harvested alongside the Grüner Veltliner Steinfeder, and unlike the hot, early-picked 2015, it has its juiciness back. Rose petal and violet open on the nose and carry through as inner-mouth perfume, glossy and broad but kept alive by a freshness that pulls everything into focus. Smoked bacon and celery seed add a savory, mouthwatering salinity, while clove brings a pungent edge and a warmly spiced finish.
