Emmerich Knoll Riesling Federspiel 2016

Apple, apricot and lime lead a nose that's clean and inviting without reaching for complexity. On the palate, the citrus takes charge, bright, juicy, with a pleasing pit-fruit bite running through the mid-palate. The finish is saline and crunchy, leaving the mouth watering, though this is a wine about refreshment rather than depth. It drinks with more Rhine-like precision than Wachau exuberance, no bad thing for a Federspiel meant to be enjoyed young.
