Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot Château-Chalon 2016

Tangerine peel, roasted walnut, lemon oil and a faint trace of bread dough, the aromatics here are dense and layered in the way only serious Château-Chalon can be. At 14.5% alcohol there's genuine weight, yet the wine stays taut and precisely focused, nothing sprawling or slack. The finish is bone-dry and almost severe, but that austerity is the point, this is a wine of real distinction.
