Roagna Barbaresco Pajè 2015

Deceptively pale in the glass, but don't be fooled, the 2015 Pajè is the most complete wine in Roagna's lower tier of single-vineyard Barbarescos, and arguably its best value. Power and breadth are suggested rather than announced, folded into a wine of genuine depth and multi-layered complexity. The body is lighter than you'd expect for the vintage, but the structure is finely tuned, with precise acidity and firm yet yielding tannins. A clean mineral thread runs through the finish, giving it shape and length. Approachable now, though another few years in bottle will only sharpen the picture. Classic Roagna.
