Honeyed intensity from the first sniff, dried apricot, candied orange rind, beeswax, and a thread of saffron that drifts through with almost weightless grace given the wine's sheer concentration. On the palate, the sweetness is profound but never cloying; razor-keen acidity cuts through the viscosity, driving the finish on and on with no apparent end. Pure and seamless, this is Scharzhofberger at its most singular. Drink 2025–2060.
