Alzinger Riesling Smaragd Steinertal 2015

Tasted from tank in June 2016, this Steinertal opens with ripe white peach and muskmelon, then a streak of fresh lime cuts through the richness and keeps things vivid and alive. Despite generous ripeness and a full, textured body, there's real tension here, the wine never feels heavy. Stony, ashen notes and bitter lime peel sharpen the finish, lending an almost austere edge that contrasts beautifully with the fruit. The saline, almost briny close, think toasted crustacean shell, is genuinely mouth-watering. Give it time, but the architecture is already in place.
