Peach jam and dried apricot lead, layered with herbal tea and a faint smoky undercurrent. Right now the sweetness sits heavily, and the wine lacks the sharp mineral cut and vivid acidity that define Pettenthal at its best, there's a flatness where precision should be. That said, the bones are there: enough structure buried beneath the fruit weight to suggest this eventually pulls itself together. Give it five or more years and revisit.
