Drawn from early passes through Steinertal, Loibenberg, and Kellerberg, fruit deemed too delicate for Smaragd, this Federspiel is a happy accident. Lucas Pichler bottled it at just 11.2% alcohol with elevated acidity, a combination that sounds austere on paper but confounds expectations entirely. Ripe honeydew and muskmelon carry the nose alongside fresh grapefruit and lime, more generous than the numbers suggest. On the palate, that same tension between lush and lifted plays out beautifully, textured and ripe yet genuinely refreshing. The finish is long, bright, and energized, with citrus zest, white pepper, and crushed stone threading through to the end. All 7,000 liters sold out by September, and it's easy to understand why.
