Zidarich Teran 2012

Teran at its most uncompromising. Dark plum, crushed blackberry, dried violet and juniper crowd the nose alongside savory herbs and a feral, iron-tinged undercurrent that is pure Carso. On the palate, the wine is dense and a little wild, spice, earth and stone fruit pushing in different directions, yet Zidarich has kept it all in check, the balance holding firm beneath the eccentricity. This is about as fine as the grape gets.
