Pure Garnacha from Sierra de Gredos, aged in 500-liter French oak. Blackberry preserve, sour cherry, lavender, wood smoke, and licorice spill off the glass with real intensity. Full-bodied and generously fleshed, with dark berry fruit and bitter cherry deepened by a note of dark chocolate, yet the wine never loses its footing. A lively undercurrent keeps the richness in line, and the whole thing holds together without a seam showing. The finish is long and expansive, sweetening gradually, with chewy tannins and a lingering floral, pastille-like quality that refuses to let go.
