Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco 2011

Dark cherries, leather, woodsmoke, rosemary and black fruit come together in a broad, richly-textured Barolo with serious depth. This is unabashedly opulent, a generous, full-bodied wine that leans toward the hedonistic end of the appellation's spectrum. The French oak sits more harmoniously than it did in the 2010, lending structure without dominating. Tasted from tank just prior to bottling.
