Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia 2011

Forward dark fruit and cherry show immediate appeal, but aggressive oak overwhelms the Bussia fruit rather than supporting it. Elevated alcohol creates heat while volatile acidity adds unwelcome sharpness. The structural imbalances undermine what should be refined expression from this prestigious vineyard. Drink now as cellaring won't resolve these issues.

Giacomo Fenocchio

A traditionalist Barolo estate working several of the appellation's most respected crus, including Bussia, Cannubi, and Villero. Long macerations and large Slavonian oak define the house style.
