Lavender, plum, black cherry, mint and warm spice fold into one another with striking ease, this is Barolo wearing its best clothes. The 2011 vintage gave Brovia something opulent to work with, and the Ca' Mia delivers it fully: deep fruit, generous body, and a plushness that nearly absorbs the considerable tannic structure beneath. It's all there on the finish, firm and persistent, but the wine's sheer richness keeps it from feeling imposing today. One of the finest expressions of this vintage.
