Give this wine an hour in the decanter and it transforms, the plush, youthful fruit pulls back and the structure steps forward with real authority. Dark plum, bitter cherry, crushed violet and a savory edge of licorice. Firm tannins for Dolcetto, with enough acidity to keep it lively. One of the rare bottles from this grape that rewards patience. Beautifully composed.
