Artadi La Poza de Ballesteros 2010

Dark, brooding ruby with ink at the core. The nose is heady and richly layered, preserved red fruit, licorice, smoked stone and Asian spice building into something almost hypnotic. Dense and concentrated in the mouth, with dark fruit and floral pastille flavors given lift and precision by juicy, vivid acidity. Tannins accumulate through the long finish but stay sweet and well-knit, folding cleanly into the wine's deep fruit. Power and proportion in equal measure.
