Piero Busso Barbaresco Borgese 2009

Dried cherry, pressed violet, anise and a faint trace of worn leather. This is a soft, gentle Barbaresco, pretty in its way, with sweet floral lift that gives the wine some charm. There's a sense of fading grace about it, though, the fruit beginning to lose its edge and the finish showing a touch of fragility. Drink soon; the window is narrowing.
