La Rioja Alta Viña Araña Reserva 2008

Dried cherry, raspberry and rose petal up front, with vanilla, a thread of smoke and earthy underbrush giving it some depth. Light-bodied and nimble, the fruit carrying a gentle sweetness that opens further with air. Fine tannins and lively acidity keep it honest through to a clean, lingering finish with candied rose at the close. Graceful traditional Rioja. Drinking well now.
