Quintarelli Amarone 2007

Seductive and generous, this is Quintarelli at his most opulent. Wild cherry, licorice, menthol and a thread of vanillin weave together seamlessly, the whole thing wrapped in a warmth that feels effortless rather than heavy. Full-bodied with velvety texture and enough underlying structure to keep it honest. The 2007 vintage's ripeness is fully on display here, decadent without losing its footing. Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to do so for another decade or more, though it may not outlast the greatest recent releases from the estate. Few will have the patience to wait.
