Jacquesson Dizy-Terres Rouges 1er Cru Extra Brut 2007

Deep copper hue from skin contact reveals this as serious Pinot Noir first, Champagne second. Black cherry, violet and fresh herbs dominate, with hints of dark spice and mineral backbone. The mousse is fine but secondary to the wine's profound fruit intensity. Drink now through 2015 while the exuberant red fruit remains at its peak.
