Bright, aromatic and distinctly soil-driven. Red cherry, incense, wild berries, crushed pepper and a thread of eucalyptus on the nose. On the palate it's vivid and concentrated yet carries its 14% alcohol with surprising lightness, flavors spread wide without any sense of bulk. Fine-grained tannins and a lifted, perfumed finish mark this out as a wine of real character. Very young still, and four to five years in the cellar should reward patience. Drink 2011–2020.
