Venica & Venica Sauvignon Ronco del Cero 2006

Ripe to the point of excess. Sweet peach, apricot jam and a honeyed richness dominate the nose of this Ronco del Cerò, with little of the green herb or citrus snap you'd hope for from Collio Sauvignon. On the palate, the weight tips toward heavy, fruit presence is there, but the edges blur and the wine lacks the cut and definition to keep things lively. Pleasant enough in the moment, but short on precision.
