Dark berries and smoked meat pour from the glass, laced with cracked black pepper and dried violets. The palate is all precision. Blackberry and cassis fruit framed by firm, chalky tannins that grip through the long finish. Built like a fortress, this Warner Vineyard bottling needs serious time to soften. The tannins are savage but ripe. Give it another decade at minimum.
