Larmandier-Bernier Vieille Vigne de Cramant Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2004

Briny, chalky, and stony on the nose, wet limestone and iodine with a thread of green apple and white blossom underneath. Taut and bone dry on the palate, citrus pith and nectarine pulled tight by Cramant's flinty core, every element in precise alignment. The finish is pure and long, fading slowly like a note held just past comfort. Give it five or more years to open fully.
