Dark cherry and plum preserves lead, with tobacco leaf and espresso building behind. The palate shows fresher red fruit cut by bitter rhubarb that keeps everything taut. Opens beautifully with air, gaining flesh while the kirsch finish intensifies. Those lean, defined tannins speak to Upper Yarra's cooler sites and red basalt soils. Ripe but structured.
