Restrained and coiled tight, this 2002 rosé takes its time to open up. Peach, nectarine and toasted bread emerge gradually, building toward a stony, focused finish with impressive clarity. The architecture, 65% Pinot Noir (including 15% still red wine) and 35% Chardonnay, delivers both weight and lift, the red wine component adding a quiet depth without tipping into heaviness. Patience will be rewarded; drink through 2035.
