Grosset Wines Chardonnay Piccadilly Adelaide Hills 2002

Slate and crushed stone lead, with white peach and grapefruit pith cutting through any tropical weight. The oak whispers rather than shouts. Just enough vanilla and toast to frame the fruit. There's a savory, almost briny quality from the lees that adds depth without heaviness. Taut and mineral-driven through the finish, with dried herbs emerging late. Already drinking well but has the backbone for another decade.
