History
Manuel Evangelho bought the land in 1936 and his son Frank farmed it from 1963 until he sold to Morgan Twain-Peterson MW and Chris Cottrell of Bedrock Wine Co. in 2017. Ridge has sourced fruit here since 1990. The Historic Vineyard Society lists the site. Bedrock owns roughly ten acres outright and holds about twenty-six more on a long-term agricultural lease from PG&E, whose transmission towers cross the property, for a total near thirty-six acres.
The Site
At 3003 East 18th Street in Antioch, Contra Costa County, on a sandbar near the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. The Delhi fine sand runs deep enough to exclude phylloxera, which is why the vines are own-rooted and why they are still here. Everything is dry-farmed and head-trained. Labels have historically read Contra Costa County; a formal Contra Costa AVA was established in March 2024.

A Zinfandel-dominant field blend with Carignane, Mourvedre, Alicante Bouschet and Petite Sirah, plus historic interplantings of Palomino, Muscat and Chasselas.
