Rudi Pichler Grüner Veltliner Achleiten Smaragd 2024

From 80-year-old vines rooted in Achleiten's gneiss, this 2024 is still very much in its shell, closed on the nose, with subtle yeast lingering across the palate. But the raw material is clearly there: concentrated, firmly structured, with vivid lemon brightness and a stony mineral backbone that runs clean through the finish. The shape is lean and linear, wound tight with energy that hasn't yet been released. Give it time, this has the depth and precision to be something special. Drink 2028–2040.
