Emmerich Knoll Grüner Veltliner Loibner Smaragd 2024

A debut release from Loiben's terraced vineyards, sourced across multiple elevations. Some initial reduction on the nose, but give it air and ripe pear, both green and yellow, come forward alongside a light yeasty quality and the characteristic white pepper lift. On the palate it's composed and understated: smooth, compact, and finely balanced, with a texture that feels almost meditative. There's no aggression here, just quiet confidence and excellent freshness. A disciplined first edition from Knoll.
