Barrel-fermented in 2,500-liter Slavonian oak vats, this field blend of Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Neuburger, Riesling and Traminer wears its Traminer component openly, rose petal and dried blossom drift off the glass before giving way to ripe, sun-warmed peach. On the palate it's generous without being heavy: a smooth, flowing texture anchored by a pithy, citrus-pith zestiness that keeps everything honest. The finish is long and faintly waxy, with a pleasing structural backbone that holds the whole thing together. Bone-dry, beautifully balanced, and a fine argument for Vienna's Gemischter Satz tradition.
