Old sandstone and marl vines between 55 and 85 years old give this a quiet authority. Warm orchard fruit on the nose, baked pear, a hint of quince, with the malo lending a seamless, rounded texture. Bone-dry on the palate yet never austere, the concentration is real but worn lightly. Pure Sylvaner in the best sense: nothing to prove.
