Mullineux Syrah Granite 2023

Jakkalsfontein granite fruit, fermented and aged in 500-litre French oak before a further nine months in foudres. The nose is lifted and floral, pressed iris, a thread of peony, weaving through dark fruit with Earl Grey and white pepper emerging as the wine opens up. Medium-bodied, with taut tannins and a clean, linear drive through the palate. The finish shows impressive density and real length. Excellent.
