Moric Grüner Veltliner Hochberg 2023

From a Leitha limestone site enclosed on three sides by forest, the Hochberg has a stony, almost introverted character. A faint reductive flint note opens things up, followed by cool yellow plum fruit that feels chilled by the rock itself — pure and precise. The body is lean, with a chalky, soil-driven core that pushes toward the austere side, lifted by a quiet but persistent salinity. Grüner Veltliner's typical peppery exuberance is dialed back here; what you get instead is the vineyard, unfiltered.
