Alzinger Riesling Höhereck Smaragd 2023

Grown in steep, sheltered orthogneiss soils, the Höhereck has always been one of Alzinger's most singular sites, and the 2023 delivers on that promise. Lemon balm dominates the nose with an almost herbal intensity, fragrant and focused, backed by fresh citrus. On the palate it's lean and elongated, with a wet stone underpinning and a faint yeasty note still integrating. Pure tangerine carries the finish cleanly to the end. Just 700 bottles produced, bone-dry and built to reward those who find it.
