Iron, orange peel and melted wax open things up, giving way to peony, smoke and a lush, creamy core. From reddish limestone soils, with a quarter whole-bunch fermentation drawn from the blocks best suited to it, then 16 months in pièce, the winemaking shows. Superfine tannins carry the wine forward with real precision, balancing brightness and ripeness without sacrificing tenderness. Concentrated and beautifully savory, this is Alsatian Pinot at its most compelling.
