Zind Humbrecht Riesling Wineck-Schlossberg Grand Cru 2022

A debut vintage from a south-south-east facing granite hillside in a narrow, shaded valley, and what an introduction. Hail wiped out more than half the crop in August, leaving just 21 hl/ha, and the concentration shows. Mango and pineapple drift across the nose with a faint smokiness underneath. The palate is where this really sings: pure, uncluttered, with salty granite-driven acidity that cuts clean and keeps the mouth watering. Finishes with a bright, pithy zest. Bone-dry and built to age.
