Wieninger Pinot Noir Grand Select 2022

Drawn from Bisamberg's lighter, sandier soils and aged 20 months across a range of barrel sizes, from 228 to 600 liters, with a higher proportion of new wood, this is the finest selection from Wieninger's Select program. Dark cherry and dried rose petal on the nose, with a trace of toast that softens gradually into delicate smoke. On the palate, it's concentrated yet composed, firm, slightly drying tannins that have absorbed the new oak without a trace of dominance, and no heaviness despite 2022's warmth. There's an inner calm to this wine: pure, precise, and genuinely elegant. Lovely now, but with the structure to develop further.
