Wieninger's flagship Grüner, sourced from 70-80-year-old vines on west-facing calcareous sandstone and aged in large wood, arrives with a nose of waxy pear skin, ripe orchard fruit and a distant squeeze of lemon. Generous and broad, yet the vineyard's structure keeps things from going soft — pear juice and a touch of stone fruit are held in check by a firm, contoured frame that keeps each sip focused and alive.
