Weinbach Pinots Furstentum Grand Cru 2022

Two-thirds Pinot Gris, one-third Pinot Blanc, co-fermented and aged in barrel with around 20% new oak. The nose is restrained, cool, waxy, almost shy. On the palate things open up: ripe Comice pear, a whisper of smoke from the oak, all kept honest by bright lemon acidity. Intense and linear, but a faint heat trails on the finish.
