The Sadie Family Wines Skerpioen 2022

Chenin Blanc and Palomino from Swartland limestone, whole bunch pressed into old foudres. A faint flor-like quality on the nose, walnut, smoke, something almost oxidative and deliberate. On the palate it's lean and saline, more so than most wines in this family, with grapefruit pith and lemon rind cutting through cleanly. Firm acidity holds the line without aggression. Give it three to four years and it will only sharpen.
