Paolo Scavino Barolo Monvigliero 2022
Meatier and more concentrated than Monvigliero typically shows, Scavino's 2022 brings genuine depth to a site more often associated with delicacy and lighter framing. Red cherry, dried blood orange, iron, cedar and scorched earth give it a decidedly muscular character, with a streak of cool mint threading through the finish. The structure is firm but not aggressive, tannins are present and grippy without overwhelming the fruit. Give it a year or two to settle before pulling a cork.
Paolo Scavino
→A Castiglione Falletto estate synonymous with single-vineyard Barolo, Paolo Scavino built its reputation on Bric dël Fiasc before expanding across some of the Langhe's most sought-after crus. Now run by the second generation, the wines remain precise, structured, and worth seeking out.
