Luciano Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2022

Aromatic and poised, with red cherry, chalk dust, white pepper and dried herbs forming a fragrant, finely drawn profile. Medium-bodied and a touch lean, honestly so for the vintage, but the balance is impeccable and the wine gains grace and definition the longer it sits in the glass. Vineyard sources Baudana, Villero, Vignane, Le Coste di Monforte and Merli each contribute something to the whole, and you sense the assemblage working in concert. A fine expression of what 2022 could offer in the right hands.
