Six limestone and marl parcels, cropped to barely half their usual yield in the dry 2022 season, produced something dense and tightly coiled. Six months of fermentation and a late-June bottling have left it compact and powerful, the ripe pear flesh restrained rather than expressive. A saline snap drives the finish, with a cider-pear astringency that signals real grip beneath the surface. Give it time.
