G.B. Burlotto Barolo 2022

A decision as interesting as the wine itself, Burlotto declined to bottle the 2022 single-vineyard Barolos, judging that no individual lot stood apart from the rest, and folded everything into this blend. The result is one of the vintage's standout values. Dark Nebbiolo fruit leads, black cherry, dried rose, blood orange, layered with leather, mint, spice box and a crack of white pepper. It needs fifteen minutes in the glass to fully stretch out, but once it does, the depth is undeniable. Compelling across every measure, and priced fairly for what's in the bottle. Drink 2026–2038.
