F.X. Pichler Grüner Veltliner Steinertal 2022

From Pichler's coolest site, a gully on terraces of weathered gneiss with deeper soils that hold moisture and benefit from cold nocturnal winds sweeping down the valley. The nose is distinctly savory and herbal: chervil, crushed yarrow, a note of fern. Those green, aromatic qualities carry straight through to the mouth, joined by ripe pear and a subtle saline edge on a textured, yeasty frame. White pepper drives the finish with authority. Svelte, pure, and bone-dry, this is Steinertal doing what it does best.
