Elio Grasso Barolo Gavarini Chiniera 2022

Cherry preserve, dried rose, blood orange and a dusting of cinnamon — Gavarini Chiniera in a warm vintage. The 2022 is generous and open-knit, offering more immediate pleasure than most editions, with a plush mid-palate and soft, approachable tannins. It lacks some of the site's characteristic tension, but the energy is still there, pulsing through the finish and keeping the wine honest. A smaller-scaled expression of Gavarini, though no less appealing for it.
