Elio Altare Barolo Riserva Cerretta Vigna Bricco 2022
Serious Serra Lunga fruit from one of Barolo's most consistent addresses. Dark cherry, leather, incense and gravel lead, with dried herbs, spice and a cool menthol lift threading through. What sets this apart is the textural depth — Altare blended two tanks here, one seeing the standard five-day rotary extraction and the other ten days with manual pumpdowns, and the combination gives the wine a breadth and layered concentration that neither approach alone would have produced. Full-bodied and firmly structured, with the kind of tightly-knit tannins that demand patience.
