Saline and waxy on the nose, pear skin and a faint smokiness that speaks to the age of these granitic vines — some dating back to 1947. Bone-dry and razor-sharp on the palate, with a vibrancy that feels almost improbable for the vintage; hail stress slowed ripening on some berries, locking in a freshness the wine wears beautifully. Taut and smooth in equal measure, with that crackling acidity lingering long past the finish.
